It is not often that I am at a loss for words. But when it comes to chocolate, THISSS chocolate bundt cake in particular, I am basically speechless! Now, it could be that I’m speechless because my mouth is stuffed with this cake, and I don’t have the ability to talk, or the desire to do ANYTHING but continue shoveling it into my mouth, or it could be because this cake is just so insanely good, that I find it hard to find any words WORTHY enough, or even capable of expressing just how amazing it is. Either way, when this beauty of a bundt is in front of you, aint nobody got time to talk.
My relationship with chocolate is a long, passionate, and strong one, filled with lots of love, experiences and lots of memories. But just like all relationships do, we haven fallen into a rut, a brownie mix rut to be specific. Chocolate has been there for me through all my ups and downs, milk vs dark phases, and constantly deals with my moodiness better than anyone! So it is extremely important that we find a way out of this lull in our relationship. The chocolate brownie mix has become a complete enabler and I have developed a total dependancy on the incredibly rich and moist decadence that it provides just by simply opening a box and adding eggs! Hello!?!? Who wouldn’t get sucked into to this type of instant gratification? Well there is hope my fellow chocoholics! My brownie mix rut will not be the death of my relationship with all other forms of chocolate because of this Death By Chocolate Bundt Cake!
This Death By Chocolate Bundt Cake is beyond decadent! Beyond moist! Beyond Rich! and BEYOND EASY!!! Seriously, this cake has it goin’ on! I love this bundt and I cannot lie, you chocoholics cant deny, when someone walks in with this rich bundt in your face you’ll get happyyyy! It will be the death of boring and blah in your chocolate world.
As a box mix junkie I especially love this cake. For as much as I love and cherish and need baked goods on a regular basis, I am not a LOVER of the mess, the dishes, and the measuring that baking from scratch requires. What I am a LOVER of however, is finding ways to tweak these beautiful boxes of pre-measured ingredients and turning them into something extra special. And that is what we have here in this delicious Death By Chocolate Cake. A box of cake mix, transformed by a bit of sour cream, chocolate pudding, and mini chocolate chips(duh), into one of the most incredibly yummy, and cute, cakes you have ever had! Don’t you think Bundts are just cute? I do!
Can we all please just take a moment to GAWK over these pics too!!! OMG! I had the pleasure of having a friend and fellow blogger in the kitchen with me who shot these amazing pics! She is an amazingly talented food blogger, baker, and photographer who made my cake look just as beautiful as it is delicious! You are SO AWESOME Naomi! Death By Chocolate Bundt Cake
Serves: 12-14 Total time: 45-55 minutes (prep: 5 minutes, bake: 40-50minutes)
1 Devils Food cake mix
1 small package instant chocolate pudding
8 oz. Sour Cream
1 cup oil
8-10 oz mini chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Generously spray Bundt pan with non-stick spray
Mix all ingredients together. Pour mix into pan. Bake at 350 for 40-50 min, or until inserted knife comes out clean.
**Prepare large bowl of ice water. Immediately upon removing cake from oven, place bundt pan into ice bath. This will stop the cooking and create a perfect outer crust on cake, also will ensure perfect removal of cake from pan! This has been a very valuable trick that creates an extremely moist center, and smooth removal of cake time and time again!
1 cup powdered sugar
2-4 tablespoons milk (or water)
combine and whisk together sugar and milk (or water). Add more milk as needed, one tablespoon at time, until reaching desired consistency.
Pour evenly over cooled cake
Top with chopped chocolate, or cookie crumbs
